Sarah Main is an Australian visual artist whose bold, expressive work explores identity, consciousness, and the boundaries between the physical and digital worlds. Her practice fuses painting with augmented reality — each of her canvases is accompanied by an original video and music she has composed herself, creating immersive, multi-sensory works that exist simultaneously as painting, film, and sound.
Working extensively with augmented reality, Main transforms her paintings into living portals. When viewed through a device, her canvases animate — revealing layers of moving image and original music that deepen and expand the painted surface. This seamless fusion of fine art and technology places her at the forefront of a new generation of artists redefining what a painting can be.
Main's connection to Ibiza runs deep. From 2000 to 2014 she was the first female resident DJ at the legendary Pacha club — a pioneering presence in one of the world's most iconic music venues. That immersion in sound, rhythm, and collective experience continues to resonate through her art, where music is not an accompaniment but an integral part of the work itself.
Her vibrant paintings and AR works have been exhibited internationally and are held in private collections across Europe and the United States.
